Quick update!
English classes have started again! We started last week with a get to know you activity as a way to kick off the semester. And tonight started the structured lessons. I am excited to see the Father bring new ladies to our classes, and bring returning friends too. We love getting to know these ladies–building relationships with them is vital.
We taught on conversational English surrounding the words “is” and “are.” For example, “Sara and Juan are teaching English” and “It is cold outside tonight.”
The ladies that were here tonight (from left to right): Margarita, Magdalena, Barbara, Maria, and Martha.
Andrew is the other teacher (in the baseball hat), and Cesar helps us with translating (in the plaid)!
Testimony:
Tonight was a great night! My favorite part was praying over one of the ladies. Last week we learned about Magdalena’s heart condition. She wore a heart monitor for 3 weeks, returned to the doctor today without many answers. The doctors will review her information and let her know what they find later in April. For now, she is taking blood thinners. This medicine is very expensive so the doctor gave her samples for now. At the end of class, we asked if we could pray over her. For healing, wisdom for the doctors, and Hope.
The Lord is good. Trust and relationships are being built in the midst of weekly English classes. I am so excited to see how the Lord continues to develop our friendships into deeper connections in sharing His Hope and greater understanding of relationship with Him.
If you are reading this, take a moment to pray for the ladies above. The Lord has great love for each of their hearts, and He desires to know each of them intimately, just as He does you.
Thanks for praying for the students, the teachers/volunteers for the English class (including me), and the Baker and Glover community.
