Good morning from Georgia!
I wanted to update you all on what my first two weeks of work have been like, and to explain my job some more!
My first week flew by. My brain absorbed so much information those first three days, I was afraid I wouldn’t remember any of it. On Thursday and Friday, I tried things on my own. I was so extremely nervous to make phone calls–so I snuck outside of our office to a little cubby to make calls. I made mistakes, stumbled over words, forgot to mention information. GRACE. Thank you, Jesus, for that sweet gift. My second week has been smoother. I am getting the hang out which emails to follow up calls with, and remembering what to say with each type of phone call (even though I still have the script notes next to me in case I forget).
Two aspects of my job that I have enjoyed this week:
1. Making acceptance calls: I get the awesome opportunity to call participants and share that they have been accepted to their trip! How can you not be excited to share this life changing opportunity? I get tears in my eyes every time I call.
2. Making check-in calls: This means the participants who have been accepted, and are working on fundraising and preparing for their trip. I love hearing how the Lord is growing their faith, the success of fundraising, and praying over them while lifting up their requests. Mini-discipleship opportunity? I think so!
Two Programs: Passport and World Race
I am mobilizing 5 of the upcoming Passport trips! The participants for these trips are college aged, 18-22. They will serve from 1 to 3 months in their assigned country. Check them out here!
These are the trips I am specifically over. Amy and Courtney are mobilizing the other countries.
June Trips: Guatemala, Swaziland and Dominican Republic
July Trip: Zambia
Fall Trips: Southeast Asia (Thailand/Cambodia) and Ecuador
*I have enjoyed working with the Passport participants because they are so excited for this next season with the Lord. Their hearts are expectant for Him to move. They also ask a lot of questions, but are flexible without all of the answers. I also enjoy hearing their prayer requests!
I am also mobilizing the third Fusion trip for the World Race! This is the same structure as my trip–participants are 21-35 years old, and they serve in each of the 11 countries for 1 month. Check out their route here!
Countries: Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Rwanda, Uganda, Ethiopia, Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, and the Philippines
*It is so surreal to be mobilizing this trip. I can distinctly remember my acceptance call for Fusion. I can remember the excitement but also the questions. I remember trying to wrap my head around fundraising $16,000. I remember sharing with so many people of what the Lord was leading me to, even with my students. I remember saying goodbye to family, friends, and my classroom. I remember the roller coaster of bittersweet feelings as I began another journey in life.
My favorite aspect of mobilizing Fusion is calling the international participants! This week I have spoken to a woman in France, a man in Ecuador, and a woman in the Netherlands. How neat is that?
I hope this helps you see a little more into my life here at Adventures in Missions!
Continue to pray for the participants that I am connecting with each day. Pray for the countries that they are going to–for prepared hearts of the people they will minister to. Pray for the participants to have teachable hearts!
Personal Prayers:
1. Humility & Love: To be humble in every phone call I make and to share His love
2. Physical Health: It is sickness season here–pray against that; and also for continued alignment in my back (visiting the chiropractor three times a week to get my back to where it needs to be!)
3. Zeal for the Lord: To yearn for His presence more and more each day!
Fundraising Update:
I have met 40% of my monthly goal: $200/$500. Praise the Lord!

Let me first say! Your father and I are proud to be supporters for you or should I say for the Lord! He has called His people to help further His Kingdom. We are so excited God is using you as a missionary at Adventures to help others that are participating in upcoming trips. How exciting it is to hear about the people you have already meet over phone calls or Skyping. We look forward to you traveling again with future participants. Praying for health daily, your new role in the ministry and for God to give you wisdom, knowledge, Grace and mercy as He guides you in daily walk with Him!!!
