June 30th rearranged my heart, and it changed for the better.

On June 30th, I met the 23 high schoolers that I would be working with for 2 weeks.

Honestly, I didn’t expect much. I had low expectations for the Lord and for the ability of the Lord to work on a two week trip to Guatemala. I know, you are thinking I am super critical and harsh. But I am just being honest with where I was on June 30th.

But somewhere between June 30th and July 3rd, the Lord changed my heart.

The Lord quickly shifted and redefined my idea of the spiritual journeys these 13-18 year olds were on. I quickly realized that the Lord was alive and evident in their lives. He was working. He was pursuing their hearts. He was desiring more intimacy with their hearts. He was wanting to see them walk in freedom. To walk in their true identity as HIS child.

I learned a lot from these 23 high schoolers. I was humbled to stand next to them in ministry and blown away by their understanding of the Father and His love for them and others.

I was humbled to see their hunger for the Father and to see Him move in Guatemala.

I was excited to see how much they loved each other and each child they served at a VBS.

I was full of joy and laughter each day as I just walked by them down the street, they lived so open and carefree.

They carried the pure joy of the Father.

They loved without hesitation.

They danced and sang their hearts out to each student.

They pursued the children as Christ did.

They sought more of the Lord.

They asked for the Lord to bring freedom and forgiveness.

They watched the Lord answer their prayers.

They saw the vastness and beauty of the Lord.

 They were full of courage.

They were full of faith, love, peace, joy.

I am blown away by these 23 high schoolers. I am excited for what the Lord did through them in Guatemala, and how they transformed my heart. I am even more pumped to see how the Lord continues to work in their lives as they continue to seek His face and pursue His heart. I am grateful for the opportunity to be able to go to Guatemala with this team–what an amazing opportunity that the Lord provided for me. The Lord is sovereign and is always up to something (even when we are unaware).

A note for my Guat 2 team: First, thanks for following the Lord’s call this summer. Thanks for fighting for your relationship with the Father and for each other. Thanks for allowing me to be a part of your life. // Second, following the Lord is a fun roller coaster ride that is wild and beautiful. Continue pursuing Him. Allow Him to direct your steps. He is faithful. He is good. He is chasing after you and knows what is best for you. He is worthy of your attention and affection. Rest with Him. He desires to be with you and get to know you, as you get to know Him. Surrender to His heart, fully and confidently. He will be with you to the very end, always.
