Reflecting back

Last week, I mailed out a newsletter to several family and friends to update them over the last few months. (If you didn’t get one, but would like one, please let me know! Email: [email protected])

A personal update:

Fall 2019 Summary

After my visit to Spain in September, I had a little of a hard end to the year. Nothing specifically went wrong. I just struggled to get back into my rhythms, including my walk with the Lord. I carried some shame with this because my word for 2019 was “ADORE” and I knew this wasn’t adoration. However, I often am hard on myself, and I have to remind myself of the Lord’s character of grace and mercy. Realizing I didn’t have to have some “incredible moments” with the Lord to have a good day or to be growing in adoration. He just asks me to walk a little closer to him day by day, and the days that I don’t…He hasn’t left. Sometimes we overcomplicate our lives and how we think the Lord functions, don’t we?

PSL in January 2020

At the beginning of the year, the World Race squad from January 2019 visited Georgia for a conference. This conference is a chance to reunite with their squad that they traveled the world with, but it also gives them a chance to “reset” and remind themselves of the things they learned and grew in on the Race after transitioning back home for 6 weeks after finishing their race. I remember how hard that transition was for me, trying to balance rest and sabbath. Rest looked like laziness in reality. I forgot the importance of the lessons learned on my race, so going to the conference was like a reset button for my heart. It was an honor to get to be a part of their group’s “reset” and to celebrate all the Lord did throughout their year and where He is leading them over the next few months.

Peru in January 2020

I was able to travel to Peru with our new group of missionaries. We met in Florida and traveled to Cusco, Peru. I was able to serve on their training team for training. It was an honor to invest in their lives as they begin their 11 month journey. I also loved getting to serve alongside alumni missionaries from the previous year’s team. It is so cool to see them come back on the field to pour out to the next generation of racers. My coaches from my race are also coaching this squad, so I was able to continue building relationships with them as well.

While in Peru, I had the chance to be a tourist while I was there by visiting llamas and alpacas, exploring Incan ruins and touring a 19th century church. I loved getting the chance to invest in artists there too. I purchased an alpaca poncho from a lady named Marilu and 3 pieces of artwork from a man named Leonardo. Pray blessings over these artists!

Thank you for continuing to love and support me in this life. I appreciate that you have been a consistent source of encouragement and love for me over the last 4 years being here in Georgia. I officially celebrated my 4th year here on February 8th! Incredible testimonies of the Lord’s faithfulness over the last 4 years, and you are a piece of that story.

Blessings from our Lord! You amaze me and I know you totally are in God’s hands and doing His will daily. The excitement and passion in your heart for others is so evident to others. Thank you for always listening to God by being quiet and submissive to His will and not yours.
    Love you!!!
